Preserving the history of Lancaster county's most prominent groups and individuals, the Heritage Center Museum is a perfect museum at which to start any exploration of Dutch Country. Many museum exhibits focus upon the region's best-known society, the Amish, with displays and activities that help elucidate the lifestyles, practices and beliefs of this reclusive group. Other displays focus on everything from early exploration to 20th century printing techniques, depending on the exhibits that are on display. Located right in the heart of the city, next to the Lancaster Quilt & Textile Museum, this historic center is close to many area attractions and activities.
