Lancaster's Heritage Center Museum interprets and preserves the county's history, as well as its rich tradition of decorative arts. Chronicling more than 300 years of change and development, its permanent collection boasts such eclectic treasures as a coffin-shaped violin case, a bizarre scuplture of George Washington by Johannes Demuth, and handcrafted furniture dating back to the time of the settlers. The museum lies in the heart of historic downtown, just north of Farnum Park.
